Sahar received a BFA in Fine Art and an MFA in Graphic Design from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.

Memory and time play an important role in her art practice. Many of her paintings are created over long periods, and her work is defined by a deep respect for the “moment in time” in which each piece is made. Visual, tactile, and found objects invite viewers to mine their own experiences, offering an opportunity for quiet reflection amid the uncertainty of the surrounding world. The process of creation is continually undone and remade through scraping, sanding, and painting over—much like memories that are reformed, polished, and retold from the distance of time.

Her work reflects how we live our lives, constantly drawing inspiration from the world around us to validate or challenge existing narratives, or to create new ones. While her paintings evolve from personal references, experiences, and memories unknown to the viewer, her hope is that the work will encourage individuals to wander through their own spaces of uncertainty and contemplation.

The layered and reworked surfaces of the paintings convey a record of experience and emotion, expressing the enduring process of self-exploration and all that it reveals. Hidden forms, apertures, and textured surfaces suggest geography—a key to exploring our life experiences and how we are shaped and molded by them. These surfaces reveal a quiet mystery, reflecting what has been discovered, what has been lost, and what history has yet to be written.
